Drone Gives Stunning View of Iceberg Off Newfoundland

A drone videographer captured stunning footage of an iceberg in Merritt’s Harbour, Newfoundland, on May 27.

Andre Arani was able to fly his drone right over the glacier, to show its peaks and its underwater mass.

National media reported that only one iceberg crossed the 48th parallel in Newfoundland in 2021, a significant decrease from 1,500 in 2019.

A Department of Fisheries and Oceans research scientist told CBC that he hoped the 2022 iceberg season would start to return to normal numbers.
