A Miller & Carter spokesperson said: "The final touches are happening, aces are in places, we’re just waiting for the moment our beautiful guests can walk through the doors.
"Doesn’t it look amazing. We have a large bar area which will be available for drinks whether you have booked a table or not!
"No booking is necessary for the bar area, we’re can’t wait to meet all of our locals. Our beer garden is looking tempting also, it is heated, so we are prepared for rain or shine."
In January, the first sign advertising the restaurant was erected at the estate, announcing 'exceptional is coming'. And in April, Teesside Live reported works were underway. In July, drone shots were taken by PremiumP UAV, which revealed the main structure in place along with a large section of the roof.
As previously reported, the plans feature different types of concrete paving for the outdoor areas - a bar terrace with a glass balustrade and a dining terrace. The submitted plans were approved by Middlesbrough Council on January 8.
Mitchells and Butlers was first granted planning permission to build a Vintage Inns pub , another chain under their umbrella, back in 2014. The firm's bid to open a Vintage Inns venue sparked a planning spat between the firm and Nunthorpe Parish Council at the time, with Teesside Live previously reporting how the council refused to withdraw an objection to the plans.
A further application was lodged in 2017 with fresh changes and a bid to build a "high quality" and "attractive" new eatery. Mitchells and Butlers then seemingly dropped the pub plan in favour of the steak chain.
The company then submitted a revised planning application in 2020, asking for permission to add extra windows and re-jig the restaurant's footprint. However, these plans - which include a capacity of 200 including outdoor dining and 40-50 seats in the bar area - were curtailed by the covid pandemic.
