Dropkick Murphy's Glasgow announce one-off opening weekend preview party
A late night Irish bar that is hugely popular in the capital and is making the move across the M8 has confirmed when and where it will be opening in Glasgow.
Dropkick Murphys, which is found just under George IV Bridge on Merchant Street in the capital, took to social media to tease the move west to its fans and has now revealed it will be opening on February 7 at 30 Midland Street under the arches for one weekend only for a preview party before reopening fully later in the year.
The preview weekend will run over three days with six times slots and fans able to register their interest online to book in.

The late night Irish bar and music venue, which is known in the capital for its raucous atmosphere and events, is open 7 nights a week until 3am with live music.
And they've just confirmed it'll be one fans don't want to miss, they said: "If you want to see the new venue, you will need to get down sharpish, as they are only trading until Sunday the 9th. They have decided to trade for three days to dip their toe in the Glasgow market before reopening later in the year.
"However, the weekend promises to be a busy one, with a packed lineup of fun, including seven live bands, full coverage of the Six Nations rugby, the GAA, and a huge Super Bowl Party on Sunday the 9th."
Other craic over the preview weekend includes a Paul Mescal Lookalike Competition, Westlife Karaoke and their famous free Bottomless Crisp Sandwich Brunch featuring Mr Tayto.
Dropkick’s PR VP Seamus Bosco Murphy said: “We love Glasgow and all the fantastic Irish bars it has. Kitty’s, Malone’s, Jinty’s, etc, are all brilliant… and we just thought, do you know what Glasgow needs? Another Irish bar! So here we are. Our offer is somewhat unique as an Irish experience, somewhere between an Irish pub, a Westlife concert, a rugby stadium and a cattle mart.
"We are very lucky to have found a venue that looks like our site in Edinburgh in every way, and we hope the people of Glasgow like it as much as we do.
