The mysterious disappearance at the heart of Channel 5's The Drowning might not be completely solved yet.
The trauma of Jodie's past opened the door to an intriguing mystery, which Halfpenny has hinted could be revisited in a potential second series due to its ratings success for the channel.
"I think if they [writers Francesca Brill, Luke Watson and Tim Dynevor] had a story and they had an idea, it could totally be like The Missing," she revealed during an interview on This Morning.
"I don't know if there is another story to be told but it's a possibility, isn't it? It would be great!"
In the week-long event series, Jodie revisited the grief of her son's death ten years earlier when spotting a teenager who looked just like him.
This seemingly-random event spirals into Jodie questioning everything about the life she'd built after her son's death, as she investigated whether the teenager actually was the son she thought she'd lost.
The Drowning featured an impressive cast that also included Robin Hood's Jonas Armstrong, His Dark Materials actress Jade Anouka, Spooks actor Rupert Penry-Jones and newcomer Cody Molko (Shadow and Bone) as the young boy Jodie believed to be her son.
The Drowning, which was filmed on location in Dublin, Ireland, is currently available on catch-up from Channel 5's My 5 video-on-demand service.
