Drunk men who were 'off their faces' attacked couple and one filmed it and posted it on Snapchat
Two men "off their faces" on drink attacked a couple on a night out. One of attackers was "enjoying" the incident so much he filmed his friend and posted footage on Snapchat. Callum Evans, 26, of York Street, Oswestry, and Thomas Richards, 24, of no fixed address, admitted affray.
A judge at Mold Crown Court today condemned their behaviour and jailed them both for ten months. Prosecutor Anna Price said CCTV camera operatives alerted police to an "altercation" on Wrexham High Street at 7.15pm on January 28 this year.
Andrew Roberts and his partner Tracey McKenzie had been on the street that dark evening when they encountered the defendants. You can sign up for all the latest court stories here

The prosecutor, who played CCTV footage of the incident in court, said Evans punched Mr Roberts and hit Ms McKenzie. Richards then hit Mr Roberts on the head with a bottle.
Mr Roberts fell to the floor and Evans hit him there again. Police arrived and arrested both defendants nearby, the court heard today. Both victims had cuts to their heads and Mr Roberts also suffered a cut hand. Neither wanted to make a complaint.
But Ms McKenzie, who went to Wrexham Maelor Hospital for treatment, allowed her injuries to be photographed. Evans and Richards were arrested and gave mostly no comment answers to questions. Richards confirmed he had filmed the incident on his mobile phone as a Snapchat video but refused to give his PIN to officers.
Alun Williams, defending Evans, said the incident started with a "verbal altercation". A probation officer found he has a "thinking deficit" but there is a realistic prospect of rehabilitation. He has a poor record for committing violent crimes and the barrister added: "Clearly he needs some help to avoid what is a developing pattern of violent offending."
Oliver King, defending Richards, said his defendant did not appear to start the "unpleasant" and "ugly" incident but he had used a bottle to strike people. But Richards is remorseful and regrets what happened. He has ADHD and "neuro-diverse needs".
He had no father figure when growing up. His grandparents brought him up but passed away when he was quite young. He wants to turn his back on such "drunken and sordid" behaviour and put his name down for a scaffolding course while on remand at HMP Berwyn.
The judge His Honour Niclas Parry said they had been "off their faces" on drink. He told Richards he struck the male victim so hard the bottle broke but both defendants were jointly responsible for the incident.
He added that Richards was enjoying the attack and "almost unbelievably you were filming it for distribution on social media". Jailing them the judge said both had had the good sense to plead guilty early on so he gave them a third off their sentences but he couldn't suspend them as there is no realistic prospect of rehabilitation.
