A drunken daredevil leaps out of a tree onto a trampoline - and ends up breaking his back.

Jordan Adlard climbed a massive oak during a boozy barbecue and jumped 20ft from a branch onto the bouncy children’s toy.

He landed on the trampoline and bounced straight off - piling into a wooden fence before landing on the floor.

Jordan initially laughed off concern from relatives after the family party incident - completely unaware he had actually broken his back.

The labourer, from Helston, Cornwall, played football the next day and carried on as normal for eight days until finally going to hospital for an X-ray on his sore back.

It was only then that doctors at the Royal Cornwall Hospital revealed he had suffered a compression fracture in his spine.

Jordan was told his back could have been permanently damaged had he waited much longer.

He said: 'I was eyeing up the jump at the barbecue and the more I drank the more I wanted to do it.

'Lots of the kids were doing front flips and I wanted to better them so I decided to climb up the tree jump off.

'I was tipsy but it was quite painful, I was on the ground for two or three minutes - I nearly cried which I haven't done for years.

'When I hit the floor everyone went quiet and stopped laughing.

'They wanted to make sure I was alight, but I managed to get up and continue drinking and enjoying the barbecue.

'I didn't think it was broken as I was able to get up and move around. I even did some breakdancing later on.'

His boozy stunt was filmed by girlfriend Nyssa Smith, 25, last Sunday.  The footage captures several guests cheering and screaming as Jordan leaps out of the tree.

Jordan - who has now dubbed himself 'The Human Cannonball' - said he decided to go to the hospital after being in pain for a week.

He said: 'I didn't think nothing of it at first as I thought if I had broken anything I wouldn't be able to walk..

THIS IS HOW TO ACTUALLY NAIL A TRAMPOLINE:

'But after eight days I decided to go to the hospital as I was still in pain.

'They didn't pick anything up on the X-ray at first but I got a call the next morning saying that I had a compression fracture of my back.'

Jordan now expects to be unable to work or play sport for 10 weeks.

He added: 'It was a stupid thing to do - but you live and learn. You'd have to pay me a lot of money to do it again.'
