Duchess of Cambridge ditches BAFTAs 2018 all-black dress code for bottle green Jenny Packham dress

On Sunday night, the Duchess of Cambridge faced one of her greatest fashion challenges to date after a letter urged BAFTA attendees to don all-black in support of the ‘Time’s Up’ movement.

But lending sartorial support against the sexual harassment allegations which have rocked the entertainment industry could be perceived as a breach of protocol and the Royal Family must remain politically-neutral at all times.

So in order to side-step the issue, the 36-year-old opted for a deep, khaki-hued dress by Jenny Peckham which featured a dainty black ribbon waist.

She accessorised the look with lens-catching jewels in a co-ordinating emerald shade and her go-to pair of Prada wavy-cut suede heels.

The Duke – who has been President of BAFTA since 2010 – and the Duchess of Cambridge took to the red carpet after the A-list headed inside the Royal Albert Hall for the ceremony.

For last year’s star-studded awards night, the pregnant royal donned a cold-shoulder gown from go-to label, Alexander McQueen’s resort 2016 line.

And the 36-year-old accessorised the evening look with the brand’s £876 Heart Clasp Clutch Box and a pair of Prada’s wavy-cut heels (both of which sold out instantly).

The royal also looked to Her Majesty for a helping hand and borrowed her diamond wedding bracelet, which Prince Philip designed for their nuptials back in 1947.

It is the first time the Duchess of Cambridge has worn a label other than Alexander McQueen for the annual BAFTA ceremony and tonight proved the perfect opportunity to showcase her blossoming baby bump.
