The Duchess of Cambridge has shared a sweet new photo she took of Princess Charlotte smelling a bluebell on Instagram, after revealing on Giovanna Fletcher's 'Happy Mum, Happy Baby' podcast that the picture is particularly poignant for her.

"I’ve got this one photo of Charlotte smelling a bluebell, and really for me it’s moments like that mean so much to me as a parent," Kate told Giovanna.

"I try every day to put moments like that in, even if they’re small or even if I don’t have time."

In the stunning, previously-unseen photo, shared on the Kensington Palace Instagram account on Sunday (16 February), four-year-old Princess Charlotte is pictured with her head bowed as she smells a bluebell in the grounds of Amner Hall, the Cambridges' home in Norfolk.

During Kate's interview with author and podcast host Giovanna, she opened up about her experiences of parenthood and spoke about the importance of the early years of childhood.

The interview took place in support of Kate's new '5 Big Questions on the Under 5s' survey on early child development, which launched last month.

Listen to the full interview with Kate on Giovanna Fletcher's Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast, available now.
