The Duchess of Cambridge has shared a new, previously unseen photo of Princess Charlotte from her private collection.

Catherine chatted about the photo when she spoke chatted to Giovanni Fletcher for her Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast last week – and revealed how much the picture makes her smile.

"I’ve got this one photo of Charlotte smelling a bluebell, and really for me it’s moments like that mean so much to me as a parent," Kate told host Giovanna Fletcher during their candid discussion about parenting on the podcast."I try every day to put moments like that in, even if they’re small or even if I don’t have time."

After the podcast was released in full on Saturday, Kate shared the photo of Charlotte which she took herself while her daughter was playing in the garden. In the shot, the four-year-old is crouching down to gently smell the flower.

The Duchess told Fletcher she puts an onus on her three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – growing up outdoors and learning through creative play, just as her 'amazing granny' did when she was a child.

She appeared on the popular parenting podcast to promote her recently launched Five Big Questions For The Under Fives survey, which aims to start a debate around early childhood and inspire her work over the next few years.
