The Duchess of Cambridge wore gold hoops, a ribbon... and the same colour as Meghan

The Duchess of Cambridge stepped out this afternoon to visit the UCL Psychology & Language Sciences Division in London.

And whilst she looked polished and presentable as ever, there were, however, a few things about her outfit that really caught our attention.

Here are three surprising things we noticed:

She wore the same colour as Meghan

The mother-of-three emulated the Duchess of Sussex's autumnal maroon-coloured look from earlier this morning, wearing a red Paule Ka blazer and skirt with a black polo-neck. An outfit she has worn no less than twice before, she paired the recycled suit with a small black clutch bag, black tights, black heels and a Cartier watch.

Kate's look was almost identical to the Club Monaco ensemble Meghan wore earlier to visit the Hubb Community Kitchen. There, the Duchess of Sussex witnessed how the funds raised by her first solo charity project - Together: Our Community Cookbook - have been making a difference to women affected by the Grenfell Tower fire.

The question is though, who copied whom?

She wore gold hoops

Kate’s earring game is definitely strong. She’s just as happy wearing high street brands like Monica Vinader and Azuni, as she is high end labels like Kiki McDonagh. Typically she opts for dainty, drop styles, however today, she really changed things up by going for some short chunky gold hoops, believed to be Oak Leaf earrings by Asprey London.

Compared to the styles she normally goes for, Kate’s hoops gave her demure and polished outfit an unusually casual and youthful twist.

She wore a black ribbon in her hair

Black ribbons have been one of the major hair accessories for 2018. Favoured by the likes of Temperley London and Tory Burch, they've even been spotted on the red carpet, thanks to stars such as Margot Robbie - who wore a velvet black ribbon in her hair to the Critics Choice Awards earlier this year.

The Duchess' black ribbon held up a mid-ponytail, adding yet another youthful touch to her - already - youthful look.
