Duchess Meghan has faced her share of criticisms, but she can count Pharrell among her steadfast supporters.

The musical artist, who produced several songs for The Lion King, briefly chatted with the Duchess of Sussex at the film's United Kingdom premiere, noting that her 2018 marriage to Prince Harry was particularly meaningful to him.

"So happy for your union. Love is amazing, it's wonderful," he said. "Don't ever take that for granted, but what it means in today's climate, I just wanted to tell you it's so significant for so many of us. Seriously."

He added, "We cheer you guys on."

In response, Meghan thanked him and added, "They don't make it easy."

The Duchess' attendance at the Lion King premiere was her first red carpet appearance as a royal, but she's certainly no stranger to such events. After more than a decade in the Hollywood circuit, she was well-acquainted with paparazzi well before joining the royal family, but the spotlight is of course much stronger these days.

Prince Harry's late mother, Diana, also attended a smattering of star-studded film premieres during her life. She even made a splash at the ultra-exclusive Met Ball, which Meghan herself has yet to attend. (Maybe next year...?)
