Duck Donuts: US dessert chain plans to open first store in Northern Ireland
A US donut chain has its sites set on Northern Ireland as plans show they are set to open their first store in South Belfast.
Duck Donuts, founded in Duck, North Carolina back in 2006, offers "sweet to savoury and everything in between" and prides itself in having "something for everyone".
In 2023, the company announced the signing of eleven franchise agreements for 20 shops, including Northern Ireland.

A spokesperson for Duck Donuts said: "Exciting development news! Duck Donuts is spreading the joy of its warm, delicious and made-to-order donuts even further across the globe with its recent franchise agreement signings.
"The two entities will bring four shops to Northern Ireland, the brand’s first European agreement and five locations throughout Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao and St. Marteen."
Plans approved by Belfast City Council show the chain is preparing to open a location in the busy Ormeau Road area of South Belfast.
Duck Donuts is set to take up shop in one of the units on the bottom floor of the Curzon Building, the site of the former Bank of Ireland building.
Commenting on the expansion announcement last year, Eric Lavinder, Duck Donuts chief development officer said: "The signing of the recent franchise agreements is a testament to the appeal of Duck Donuts’ made-to-order donuts and commitment to providing an exceptional customer experience.
"With our warm and inviting atmosphere, and delicious donuts, we are confident we will continue to captivate the interest of future small business owners both in the United States and abroad.”
