They celebrated their fifth wedding anniversary back in April and to show their appreciation to well-wishers who congratulated them, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have sent out thank you cards revealing a new photo of themselves.

Posing happily in a garden, the picture shows the couple looking regal with their arms resting casually around one another other.

Kate is the picture of elegance in a cream tweed jacket with Peter Pan collar by Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti, which she teamed with an ivory pleated skirt from Whistles, while William looks smart in a mid-blue suit and pale blue tie.

A photo of the card was shared on Twitter by royal photographer, Paul Ratcliffe, who had sent a card to Prince William and the Duchess to celebrate their anniversary on 29th April.

“Lovely thank you card received from TRH The Duke & Duchess of Cambridge for their 5th Wedding anniversary,” he tweeted alongside an image of the card.

The card read: “The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge were so touched that you took the trouble to write as you did on their fifth wedding anniversary. It really was most thoughtful of you and Their Royal Highnesses send you their warmest thanks and best wishes.”

A peek at the back of the card reveals the photo was taken by Chris Jelf, the photographer who also took the family portrait of the couple with children Prince George and Princess Charlotte, which was released at Christmas.

Since their anniversary it’s been a busy time for the royal couple. Not only have they celebrated their daughter Princess Charlotte’s first birthday, they’ve also attended various events to mark the Queen’s 90th birthday. This week saw them make their first visit to the Chelsea flower show, followed by a garden party at Buckingham Palace. And they’ve also launched their mental health charity Heads Together. How they found time to write out thank you cards we’ll never know!
