The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge return to London

For the first time since the coronavirus crisis began, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge headed to London this week for a busy day of engagements.

During their trip, they visited a job centre in London Bridge, the East London Mosque and the London Muslim Centre in Whitechapel – then finally a bakery, where they stopped to make bagels.

The Royals received a warm welcome at Brick Lane’s famous Beigel Bake, which delivered supplied to vulnerable members of the community during lockdown.

Dressed in a red floral Beulah London dress, nude heels and an Amaia Liberty-print mask, the Duchess rolled up her sleeves to knead the dough to form balls that would become bagels. When praised for her technique, she said: “Just you wait until the aftermath! I had beginner’s luck, they are getting worse!”

While her dress and mask have both sold out online, those looking to emulate the Duchess’ look can find a similar mask from Le Colonel, which offers a set that also includes a blue mask, like Prince William’s.

A keen cook, Kate has revealed that she spent much of lockdown baking treats with her three children, Princes George and Louis, and Princess Charlotte, at home at Anmer Hall in Norfolk.
