The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have expressed their personal thanks to hospital staff working to help fight coronavirus.

Prince William and Kate recorded a touching voicemail, which they sent to employees of Queen’s Hospital Burton in England and University Hospital Monklands in Scotland.

“We’d just like to say from the two of us how proud we are of all of you and how amazingly you are all doing under such extreme circumstances,” explained the duke.

“I know all of you see this as your job and that you get on with it, but this is a different level and you guys are doing an incredible job.”

“The whole country is proud of you, not just us, we really mean that. So, thank you for everything you’re doing and all the hours you’re putting in.”

The duke and duchess are abiding by government rules and are currently in self-isolation with their children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis in their home Anmer Hall, on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.

Before leaving London, which so far is the hardest hit by the coronavirus pandemic, the royals visited NHS emergency responders to thank them for their work.

As well known advocates for mental health, the Cambridges highlighted how importance prioritising mental health is while in isolation and practising social distancing.
