The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reportedly redistributed staff at their UK home, giving them other duties within the Queen's household outside Frogmore Cottage. The move is said to be an indication that the property is in the process of being closed, and that Meghan and Harry do not plan on spending any substantial time in Britain in the near future.

The Daily Mail claims that live-in staff - a house manager and a cleaner - have been given new duties within royal household, while chefs, maids and footmen have been told that their services are no longer required.

The speculation comes after the couple made the controversial decision to split their time between Canada and the UK, as they step away from the roles as senior members of the royal family. Earlier this week, the Queen gave the move her approval in a public statement which said her grandson and his wife would remain valued members of the monarchy.

"My family and I are entirely supportive of Harry and Meghan’s desire to create a new life as a young family. Although we would have preferred them to remain full-time working members of the Royal Family, we respect and understand their wish to live a more independent life as a family while remaining a valued part of my family."

The Duchess of Sussex is already in Canada with baby Archie, and Harry is expected to join them next week following multiple public engagements.
