With March Madness just around the corner, Duke provided us with yet another reminder that we are dealing with a different level of chaos in college basketball this year.

Facing Wake Forest, Duke was in the position it has often found itself against Wake Forest: up by nine with less than two minutes left. However, the Demon Deacons clawed back into the game thanks to multiple Blue Devils turnovers.

And then, down three points with 17 seconds left, Wake Forest’s Brandon Childress did this:

The game would eventually head to double-overtime, where Wake Forest blew Duke out and won 113-101. That should warrant a court-storming for a team ranked 92nd in the KenPom ratings:

The win is Wake Forest’s first against Duke since 2014.

The loss leaves Duke a game back from Florida State and a half-game back from Louisville for the lead in the ACC with three games left on its schedule.

Unless Florida State loses to Clemson, Notre Dame or Boston College, the Blue Devils might not have a route left for their first ACC regular season title since 2010.
