Dumfries building collapses in Storm Eowyn as police close town centre
Police in Dumfries have closed two town centre streets due to the partial collapse of a building.
Storm Eowyn has been battering the region with gale force winds since the early hours of Friday morning.
That has led to roads being closed due to falling trees as well as businesses closing and buildings being damaged.

And with part of a gable end collapsing on a building in Dumfries, police - who are already advising people not to travel - have been forced to close two streets.

A Facebook post stated: “Academy Street and Queensberry Street in Dumfries are closed due to a partial building collapse.
“Please avoid the area.”
