Preparations for Dumfries and Galloway’s garden waste collection scheme are being ramped up.

The council is introducing the service in the spring, meaning grass clippings, leaves and garden waste can be processed and composted separately.

Now they are inviting people to apply for their garden waste permit, which costs £40 a bin and will ensure regular collections between March and November.
