A Dumfries and Galloway dairy firm is ending its doorstep deliveries.

Roan's Dairy, based at Barnbarroch near Colvend, launched its Fresher than the Udders milk brand in 2015.

Since then, it has been making deliveries across the region and its free range milk has become a familiar sight in stores across Dumfries and Galloway.

However, rising costs have led to it calling time on doorstep deliveries.

A statement read: "After more than nine years of delivering milk to doorsteps all over Dumfries and Galloway, it is with regret that we have decided to close the milk delivery business due to cost pressures and other commitments.

"We can't thank our customers enough for their support over the years. It has been a pleasure and joy delivering our 'Udderly Moolicious' Milk and we are grateful for your loyalty and support over the years.

"We also want to thank you for the kindness everyone has shown the team in this difficult and transitional time.

"Roan's Dairy has survived a global pandemic, saved a couple of lives, weathered a few storms and could write a book on the stories and antics we have had but like they say: 'All good things come to an end'."
