New Dumfries and Galloway restaurant offers fresh seafood in relaxed atmosphere

A new restaurant is offering fresh seafood in a relaxed atmosphere.

Swally 'n' Scran has opened in the centre of Kirkcudbright just across from Harbour Square.

It’s been created by the team at West Coast Sea Products – the family run scallop suppliers who are among the Stewartry’s biggest employers.

It’s the latest offering from the firm, which ran the successful Skipper’s Scran Van in the harbour over the summer, offering visitors the chance to enjoy freshly caught and cooked fish in the sunshine.

Swally 'n' Scran has no established menu, with customers enjoying whatever has been caught that day.

And there’s no booking system either – just turn up and enjoy everything from oysters and scallops to salmon and monkfish, as well as some of their delicious seasoned fries.

There’s also a full bar service and next door is Skipper’s Fishmonger, offering the latest catch from West Coast Sea Products’ fleet of trawlers.

Swally 'n' Scran is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings in the heart of the Artists’ Town of Kirkcudbright.
