Duncan James has officially filmed his first scenes for Hollyoaks.
After having to delay his soap debut after ending up in hospital earlier in the year, things are finally underway, and his first episode is in the can.
Duncan said: “After a nightmare few weeks in and out of hospital, it’s great to finally be up at Hollyoaks and getting my first scenes under my belt. Everyone in the cast and crew were so welcoming and made the experience really enjoyable, I can’t wait to do more.”
The Blue singer plays Ryan Knight, the boyfriend of returning character Amy Barnes, who also turns out to be an undercover policeman much to the surprise to some of the cast.

A Hollyoaks spokesperson added: “Ryan is a good guy in a committed relationship who will move into the village. He is a grounded family man with principles and integrity but who will fight tooth and nail for what he believes in.”
Fans can definitely expect some drama in the weeks to come.
Filming was initially delayed back in June after the former pop star was rushed to hospital following surgery complications.
Following treatment for a slipped disc in his back it was long before he was back in the operating theatre.
“We are all concerned for Duncan’s health and wellbeing at this time, but he is in good hands and has a great medical team around him,” reps for Duncan said at the time.
Despite the delay, Duncan’s first scenes as Ryan will now air in August.
