Dust Devil Forms in Toronto Ahead of Deadly Southern Ontario Storms

Powerful winds stirred up a dust devil in Toronto on Saturday, May 21, before deadly storms killed at least seven and caused severe property damage across southern Ontario.

This video taken by Dr. Liza Egbogah, who said she filmed it before the storm hit, shows winds kicking up a dirt vortex on a construction site.

The thunderstorms in southern Ontario resulted in multiple fatalities and a “few others” injured, reported Environment Canada on Sunday, with winds up to 82 mph causing extensive damage to trees, power lines and buildings. Credit: Dr. Liza Egbogah via Storyful
