Dust Storm Reduces Visibility Near Baghdad

Visibility was reduced on roads in Baghdad, Iraq, on Monday, May 16, as powerful dust storms swept through the region.

Early on Monday, the Ministry of Health had instructed health departments across the country to prepare to deal with emergency cases as a result of the dust storms.

Flights from Baghdad International Airports resumed on Monday afternoon after they were temporarily suspended because of the dust, local media said, while Basra International Airport, eastern Iraq, was forced to close.
