Demonstrators across three Dutch cities rallied on Saturday in solidarity of a gay couple who were assaulted, allegedly for holding hands.

Around 2,500 people came out in Arnheim, where the attack took place on April 2. Other rallies were held in Eindhoven and The Hague.

One of the men, Ronnie Sewratan-Vernes, lost teeth when he was attacked with a bolt cutter last Sunday. Both he and his partner, Jasper Vernes-Sewratan, attended the rally in Arnheim. Credit: Twitter/@ThijsLippie via Storyful
