The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has moved to announce new 2025 benefit payment rates for Universal Credit, PIP, DLA and more. The DWP has now confirmed the proposed weekly or monthly rates for the new financial year.

A full breakdown of all benefits, including additional payments, the benefit cap and new deduction rates is now available via the Labour Party government's website. Chancellor Rachel Reeves confirmed in the Budget last month that benefits will rise in line with September’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation.

The payments will be hiked from April 2025, Ms Reeves - the Chancellor - said, increasing payments by 1.7 per cent. Of course, the Triple Lock is a separate promise and pledge, meaning the state pension is exempt from the 1.7 per cent hike.
