DWP confirms 2025 benefit rises including PIP and DLA
The Work and Pensions Secretary has confirmed a rise of 1.7 per cent in disability benefits for the 2025/26 financial year. Liz Kendall MP also announced the new rates for benefits such as Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Disability Living Allowance (DLA), and Attendance Allowance starting from April 7.
Currently, a successful claim for PIP can give between £28.70 and £184.30 each week in additional financial support. The benefit is paid every four weeks meaning there are 13 payments over a year instead of 12. This equates to between £114.80 and £737.20 every payment period.
An increase of 1.7 per cent will see people receiving disability benefits get between £29.20 and £187.45 each week, or £116.80 or £749.80 every four-week pay period. Over the course of the financial year, this will result in people on the highest awards receiving an extra £9,747 in cash assistance.

It's important to know the top figure of £749.80 is based on an individual receiving the highest award for both daily living and mobility components. Attendance Allowance does not include a mobility component, explains the Daily Record.
