Three payments from the Department for Work and Pensions, totalling £1050, are set to be received in October. As the Cost of Living crisis persists, UK households have been informed that there ARE avenues for assistance if you're financially strapped and struggling in the UK.

The DWP and Labour Party government are distributing payments to aid individuals through the autumn and winter months. With energy bills on the rise and Winter Fuel Allowances being reduced for some, it's crucial to be aware of what you're entitled to and when.

As we gear up for the festive season, ensure you're aware of what you're owed. And don't forget, most people claiming DWP benefits will be eligible for this year's £10 Christmas bonus.

All state pensioners also qualify, regardless of their income, reports Birmingham Live.

The Warm Home Discount scheme provides a one-time payment of £150 to those who may struggle to cover their energy bills during the chilly winter months. Remember, if you reside in England or Wales and are eligible for the payment, you won't need to apply as the Government will automatically inform companies who to pay.

Two groups are eligible for the Warm Home Discount; Core Group 1 and Core Group 2. If you meet the criteria for these groups and have an energy supply on the qualification date (11 August 2024) then your supplier will inform you if you're eligible by early December.

The discount can be applied at any time between October and March, with energy companies deciding when to implement it.

Winter Fuel Payments, previously available to all pensioners and worth up to £300, are now being discontinued for everyone except the most impoverished. This year, only those receiving Pension Credit and certain other benefits will qualify for support.

Charities have voiced concerns that this could leave around two million pensioners who just miss the qualifying threshold struggling this winter.

Adding to the problem, hundreds of thousands of pensioners fail to claim Pension Credit despite being eligible, meaning they risk missing out on winter fuel money to which they are entitled.

The Household Support Fund is set to continue, with the Labour Party government extending it beyond the original September end date set by the previous Tory administration. The Conservative Party introduced the fund, which sees the DWP distribute cash to local councils and authorities.

Some councils are distributing as much as £600.
