The Department for Work and Pensions and HMRC have issued an update over payment dates in October under the Labour Party government. DWP payment dates in October for benefits and pensions have been revealed.

Changes to the benefits and pension systems could come into play following the Autumn Budget. Chancellor Rachel Reeves has hinted at potential changes to the benefits and pensions system but until then, payments will continue as usual.

Since there are no bank holidays in October in England, Wales, Scotland or Northern Ireland, your benefit payment schedule should be as normal. For Attendance Allowance claimants this means usually every four weeks and for Carer’s allowance it is weekly in advance or every four weeks.

Child benefit is paid out to claimants usually every four weeks or weekly for single parents. Disability living allowance is paid out to claimants up and down the UK usually every four weeks, while Employment and support allowance is paid into bank accounts usually every two weeks.

Income support is usually every two weeks, Jobseeker’s allowance is paid to those out-of-work usually every two weeks and Maternity allowance can range from every two or four weeks, it has been confirmed by the DWP. Pension credit is usually every four weeks.

Personal independence payment (PIP) is usually every four weeks, Tax credits is every four weeks or weekly and Universal credit is every month. The basic state pension is paid directly into a claimant’s chosen bank, building society or credit union account every four weeks.

The exact day on which your state pension is paid will depend on the last two digits of their national insurance number. 00 to 19 is paid on a Monday, 20 to 39 is paid on a Tuesday, 40 to 59 is paid on a Wednesday, 60 to 79 is paid on a Thursday and 80 to 99 paid on a Friday.
