DWP issuing £434 payments to people with 57 health conditions within days

A Department for Work and Pensions £434 payment is due within days if you suffer from one of 57 common health conditions. The DWP is issuing £434 payments in a welcome boost for sufferers of 57 common health issues, it has emerged.

Attendance Allowance saw an increase in April after the government announced that state benefits would rise by 6.7 percent from April 8. If you qualify, you'll have more money in your payments after the uplift from the government and DWP.

Charity Turn2Us explains: "Attendance Allowance is money for people over pension age who have care needs. You may have care needs if you need help with activities of daily living, such as getting dressed, going to the toilet or having someone to look after you so you do not hurt yourself.

"It could include help outside the home. It does not matter if no one actually gives this help, as long as you can show you need it. You can have any type of disability or illness, including sight or hearing impairments, or mental health issues such as dementia or depression.

"Attendance Allowance does not cover mobility needs." The DWP has a list of common health problems that might mean you can get attendance allowance. They are as follows:

  • Disease of the muscles, bones or joints

  • Trauma to limbs

  • Visual disorders and diseases

  • Hearing disorders

  • Heart disease

  • Respiratory disorders and diseases
