Warning: This article contains spoilers for Dynasty season 2
The Dynasty reboot will be missing one of the Carrington clan when it returns this fall.
It was just confirmed that season two of the CW series will premiere on October 12 in the US, but it's now emerged that one major cast member will be absent.
Nathalie Kelley, who played Cristal Carrington, made the shock announcement in an interview with E! Online that she won't be returning to Dynasty.
"I won't be returning... I haven't read anything for season two," she said.
Dynasty's first season finale 'Dead Scratch' saw Cristal shot by Claudia (Brianna Brown) and trapped in a burning building... so are we to assume that she didn't make it out alive?
"I know that I end up with a gunshot wound and in a fire at the end of season one, and I know that I won't be filming season two," Kelley said.
"Is it a coma? Is it death? I actually don't know. But I know that I'm not going to Atlanta [where Dynasty films] in July, that I'm staying [in Los Angeles]... I've got my life back."
Wow – guess it's time to speculate as to whether season two will open with a time jump, and whether any other characters will be missing from the line-up when the show returns.
The first season of Dynasty – which is available to watch on Netflix in the UK – starred Kelley alongside Elizabeth Gillies (Fallon Carrington), Grant Show (Blake Carrington), Alan Dale (Joseph Anders), James Mackay (Steven Carrington), Sam Adegoke (Jeff Colby), Robert Christopher Riley (Michael Culhane) and Rafael de la Fuente (Sammy Jo Jones).
