EA responds to The Sims 4 complaints after releasing console-exclusive content
EA has addressed The Sims 4 complaints after the release of its newest content, which is exclusive to console players and currently unavailable to those on PC and Mac.
Sleepover Sleepwear Set, released on Tuesday (February 28), is a new collection of Create-a-Sim items that provides more options for comfortable sleepwear. It wasn't previously announced, but rumours about its existence (also reported by SimsCommunity.info at the time) had been circulating leading up to its launch.
The set had a quiet launch, but Simmers learned of two catches.

The first is that it's only available for PlayStation and Xbox players. The second is that it's free but only for players who have an EA Play subscription. The set isn't part of an Sims Delivery Express (SDX) content drop, as had been speculated.
Following its launch, an EA community manager responded to a forums post over the set, writing: "This is the downside of us not engaging with rumors. This was not an SDX drop as it was rumored but rather a console-exclusive EA Play perk."
As several replies from forum posters expressed disappointment over the content's exclusivity and it being tied to EA Play, the community manager followed up by mentioning some of the content that's exclusive to PC.
"Hey all," they wrote. "I understand the FOMO, but here's just a small selection of items that PC players have had that console players still don't: Noctis Outfit; Family Portrait; Bare Naked Gnome; Awesome Animal Hats (all PC players got this free); Mods.
"Rewarding the players with EA Play on console shouldn't be taken as a slight to you if you're on PC."
It also appears that the content is a limited release at this stage, with EA Play subscribers on consoles having only until March 29 to claim it for free.
Digital Spy has reached out to EA for further information about Sleepover Sleepwear Set's release.

Elsewhere, the game will see a free major update for all players (including on PC, Mac, and consoles) later this month that will add the Infants life stage.
Birthmarks, stretch marks, and caesarean scars will also be included as part of March 14's base game update, which is being rolled out to coincide with the Growing Together expansion pack.
The Sims 4 Growing Together will launch on PC, Mac, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One, and Xbox X|S on March 16.
