Eamonn Holmes has provided a health update to his fans, revealing his "next aim" after his parting ways with Ruth Langsford. However, fans were distracted by his photoshop 'fail.'

The GB news presenter has had some major health woes over the years since 2016. He caused concern last week after unexpectedly falling ill while live on air. It comes after he admitted to being "on borrowed time", given his persistent health concerns.

Eamonn made his appearance at the TRIC awards last month in a wheelchair. He underwent a "life-changing" hip replacement surgery in 2016, and a later spinal surgery in 2022. The broadcaster suffered another setback when he had a fall and broke his shoulder.

Admitting that he "basically can't walk", the TV personality has kept his followers updated on his health journey. A snap showing Eamonn standing against a door frame was posted to his Instagram. However, some followers suggested Eamonn had edited the photo as the doorframe appeared to bend, reports the Mirror.

In casual white trousers and a navy blue jumper, he captioned it: "Hard to stand up but next my aim is to walk . Off to a birthday party today . What about you?"

One follower claimed: "He's edited this pic, if you look bottom right, it's curved lol." Another added: "look at the door as well." Someone else commented: "oh dear god lmao, photoshop fail ah Eamonn come on." Yet one fan hit back: "So what does it matter. We all edit photos to make us look and feel better."

His post did however gain some supportive responses from fans, with one saying: "Your doing well Eamonn keep it up xx." Another responded: "Looking good. Enjoy your party x." A third person commented, saying: "You're looking good Eamonn, keep up the good fight." A fourth fan advised, "Look after yourself and enjoy your party."

Back in May, Eamonn and Ruth Langsford announced their shock split after 14 years of marriage. Ruth has reportedly been grappling with "agonising guilt" in light of her estranged husband's ongoing health struggles. It has been said she's worried about appearing as if she's "abandoned" him.

A source revealed to Bella magazine that Ruth felt "terribly guilty" and seeing recent photos of a "frail has been torture for her" Eamonn has been incredibly difficult for her. The source added: "Even though she has every right to live her life and do what is right for her - she's convinced the public will see her as abandoning Eamonn in his time of need as he struggles with his health."

Speaking to the Mirror , Eamonn acknowledged being on "borrowed time" while discussing his health issues. "I'm not OK. This is not a good time at all," he confessed before making an emotional appeal to his estranged wife. Reflecting on their 14-year marriage, he said: "It's too early to say but I hope we can still be friends."

Eamonn Holmes had a challenging double-hip replacement operation that lasted over three hours in 2016. He shared his struggle with shingles in 2018, revealing that the virus struck him on his son Declan's wedding day. In September 2021, during an appearance on Loose Women, he talked about his health issues that prevented him from hosting This Morning three years earlier. His battle with chronic back pain started unexpectedly in spring 2021.
