Eamonn Holmes is set to discuss his separation from Ruth Langsford during his first television appearance since the announcement of their breakup. The pair surprised their followers with a statement over the weekend, confirming the end of their 14-year marriage.

It has emerged that Eamonn left their shared residence shortly before their representatives released the news. At 64 years old, Eamonn reportedly moved out of their £3.25 million Surrey home and is now residing in a nearby property.

As he copes with the emotional turmoil, Eamonn is preparing to open up about his second divorce on his return to GB News this Monday. A source revealed that the broadcaster is aware that viewers are eager to hear his perspective and he intends to address the matter.

"Eamonn is always frank on camera and knows it will be odd for him to discuss the day's news without mentioning his split so he'll say a few words," they confirmed, reports the Mirror.

"He is putting on a brave face and will be the true professional he always is. Focusing on work will be a welcome distraction," the insider informed The Sun.

Allegedly, the couple parted ways over a year ago but have been privately struggling to salvage their relationship. Another informant claimed that Eamonn had no desire to make the breakup public at this stage, with the joint statement being driven by Ruth's determination to move on.

He is said to have expressed to friends that he 'didn't want to get involved' and that 'Ruth can do what she wants but keep me out of it'.

"Eamonn's preferred way was not to tell anyone. Deep down he knew it couldn't carry on but he was kind of sticking his head in the sand. He is very upset indeed," a source disclosed to the Mail On Sunday.

On the previous day, it was suggested that the couple's separate 'lives' were a factor in their split, with an insider noting that their respective careers 'pulled them in different directions. '.

The pair had been a staple on This Morning until their departure in 2020. Ruth continued her television journey with ITV as a co-presenter on Loose Women, while Eamonn took up a new role at GB News, from where he didn't shy away from criticising his old network post-exit.

Speculation about the state of their marriage had been rife among fans after the couple hadn't been spotted together for some time. Their last public appearance was at The Television and Radio Industries Club awards in 2022.

Friends have mentioned that the two had grown apart over time, yet Ruth made a point of visiting Eamonn during a recent hospital stay. Eamonn has been dealing with chronic pain for the past two years, which Ruth described as a 'testing' period for the family.

In a candid chat with Woman's Weekly, Ruth expressed uncertainty over whether Eamonn would ever make a complete recovery.
