Forget a Danny Dyer cameo, it's all about Eamonn Holmes strutting into the Love Island villa with some larger-than-life swimming trunks, after Laura Anderson admitted she has the hots for the presenter.

The This Morning host responded to Laura's bold claims (and happily glossing over Megan Barton Hanson reacting with that face) on Twitter last night, saying: "In all modesty ..... Who could blame her?"

He then added: "I have to thank that lovely Laura girl from #loveisland for the nice things she said about me. Let's just not share them with @RuthieeL . I don't want to get my mugged offs and Cracking on's mixed up ...but plenty to discuss on Tomorrow's @thismorning."

Obviously Ruth was on the warpath, showing off her Love Island lingo with the reply: "The girl has taste! Thank you Laura but @eamonnholmes won't be cracking on any time soon!!"

Responding to a "concerned" fan who feared we'll never hear the end of Laura fancying Eamonn on This Morning – the couple are standing in for Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby this summer – the TV star joked: "Thank you for your concern Sarah....tomorrow morning on @thismorning is going to be a challenge!! x"

And she wasn't wrong...

Eamonn immediately brought it up as the ITV show began, with the presenter declaring: "It's nice to be an inspiration to young people, that two people can be like us – couple goals."

Announcing that he was up for entering the villa, he quipped: "It may well happen. I've got my passport ready."

After a Photoshopped image popped up on screen of Eamonn's head on a Love Islander's body next to Laura, Ruth confessed: "That does make me slightly jealous. Last night I found it funny, but now not so much.

"I think it would be nice if you went in and talked to Laura about why she keeps getting dumped, give some advice, maybe talk to the boys."

Was Ruth throwing shade there?

Laura had said on last night's Love Island: "I really fancy Eamonn Holmes. I just love him and Ruth and think they're so cute together."

Perhaps new contestant Paul Knops can be the Eamonn to Laura's Ruth?

This Morning airs on weekdays on ITV, while Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
