East London jogger attacked by dog in London Fields with pet seized

A woman was attacked by a dog in an East London park today (Sunday, November 17). The victim, who witnesses said was a jogger, was bitten on her hand by the animal.

The dog, whose breed is not known, was seized by Metropolitan Police, after the incident in London Fields, Hackney, shortly after 10am.

The woman in her 30s is not seriously injured, MyLondon understands.

A witness said in a local group that the dog 'wouldn't let go of her', adding: "She was apparenly in complete shock and covered in blood." They added that police were on the scene quickly.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police told MyLondon: "At 10.16hrs on Sunday, 17 November officers were called to London Fields, Hackney following reports that a woman had been attacked by a dog.

"Officers attended with London Ambulance Service paramedics. The victim, a woman in her 30s, went to hospital with injuries to her hand. The dog was seized and an investigation is under way."
