EastEnders aired some powerful scenes tonight involving Frankie Lewis and sexual harassment.

In Wednesday's episode, Frankie was followed home by an aggressive creep after a night out with Lola, Whitney and Dotty. Tonight, viewers saw the aftermath.

Frankie couldn't shake off the feeling that she was being followed. And she was right to be wary. The guy, who had sexually assaulted Frankie on the dance floor earlier that evening, had also got off the Tube at Walford station.

The man continued to hassle her and trapped her against a wall, but a passer-by intervened, giving Frankie the chance to flee home.

"It could have been so much worse," Frankie's dad Mick said after she detailed her ordeal to him and Shirley.

"I shouldn’t have to be saved," Frankie replied.

"I know you shouldn’t. I get you," Mick said.

"No. You don't understand," Frankie said. "I had the key in my hand the whole time. I walked the safe way. I even walked past this place just in case he was following me. I didn't argue with him. I didn't lead him on. I said no. I did every single thing that I am meant to do to stay safe. But I got really scared. Because he thinks it's OK.

"They don't see me as a person. They see me as a… thing."

Mick’s response that she goes to the police didn't go down well with Frankie.

"You want this to stop, you've got to step up. Do something about it!" Mick insisted, leading Frankie to give another powerful speech.

“You think the police are going to take me seriously?" She asked her Dad. "Do you know how hard it is to get anybody to listen, even when it is rape, Dad?

"Do you want to know why the police won't do anything about it?! Because it's happening to millions of us! Women and girls. The constant low-level sexual harassment, every single day! And it's much easier to just dismiss us than to face it! Because that is half of the population!

"So no. I don’t want to HAVE to fight it! I don’t want to 'do something about it!' Because I am not the problem here, am i?! AM I?!"

Will Frankie get justice?
