EastEnders announces big change for Teddy after Barney’s return
EastEnders spoilers follow.
EastEnders has revealed a big change for Teddy Mitchell following the return of his son, Barney.
It’s been a busy time for the Mitchells in recent weeks after Barney secretly called his mother, Nicola, who had supposedly been on a trip to Bali.
Despite the wishes of his father, Barney still sought to meet his mother, with the youngster telling his brother, Harry, that they had shared a conversation.

After being ordered to forget about his mother, Barney made a bold move as he went to visit her, leaving a note for his enraged father and brother. They subsequently revealed that Nicola hadn’t been in Bali at all, with the secret set to be shared soon.
In next week’s scenes, Barney returns to Walford displeased at both his father and brother after they had lied about his mother. Teddy, admitting his previous error, strives to repair his relationship with his son.
His plan involves becoming a “respectable” businessman, sharing with Harry that he intends to buy Peggy’s to honour his family. Simultaneously, he tasks Harry with a secret mission to find out what Barney had discussed with his mother.
The plan backfires, however, with Barney cottoning on after Harry’s line of questioning becomes particularly intrusive. This leaves him even more isolated from his family, with Teddy left wondering as to how he can repair the relationship.

The developments come after Nicola makes a bold entrance to Walford, with the character having some particularly stern words for her ex-husband. Laura Doddington, who will make her debut on Monday (November 4), recently teased details about her character, describing her as “complex”.
“Nicola is a complex woman who comes in like the Tasmanian Devil! She’s strong and completely unapologetic about who she is,” said Doddington, with executive producer Chris Clenshaw describing Nicola as “strong” and “feisty”.
EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
