There's going to be another EastEnders exit coming up, as actress Maggie Steed is to depart the BBC soap.

Her character Joyce Murray is leaving the Square and her exit scenes are due to be aired next week.

According to The Sun, Joyce's exit storyline will see her die in her sleep, leaving her already struggling husband Ted (Christopher Timothy) heartbroken.

EastEnders has not commented on the reports.

Joyce and Ted have been on our screens since May 2017 and we will soon be introduced to their daughter Judith, who will be played by Emma Fielding.

Joyce is one of several characters who are set to depart the soap over the coming months, as it was announced last week that Woody Woodward, played by Blue singer Lee Ryan, is also leaving.

An exit storyline for the Queen Vic barman has not yet been revealed but Ryan is expected to film his final scenes shortly.

Vincent Hubbard, played by Richard Blackwood, is also on the way out and Blackwood has already filmed his final scenes.

Digital Spy reported that his departure is a mutual decision, with an EastEnders insider telling us that the actor felt it was the right time for him to move on and try other projects.

EastEnders airs on BBC One.
