Yahoo News EastEnders' Steven Beale to be caught out by Jane?
EastEnders will air explosive scenes next week as Steven Beale looks set to be caught out when Jane makes a shocking discovery.
Steven (Aaron Sidwell) has trapped his girlfriend Lauren Branning into marrying him by telling multiple lies about having a terminal brain tumour, but his plan will start to fall apart in upcoming episodes.
After returning to the Square, Lauren throws herself into preparing for her wedding, but soon becomes overwhelmed with the enormity of everything that's happening.
When she learns that the Registry Office will need to push the date back, a stressed Lauren goes to try on her dress, but struggles to keep hold of her emotions and breaks down.
With an interfering Abi questioning what's wrong, Lauren tells her that Steven is unwell – but, of course, fans know that Abi is already in on Steven's deplorable scheme.
Determined to support Steven the best she can, Lauren tells him she wants to be there for him but can't do it alone – insisting that it's time to tell Ian and Jane. And unable to see a way out, a guilty Steven joins Lauren to break the news to Ian and Jane about his tumour, leaving them devastated.
The news understandably hits Ian the hardest and he desperately confides in Jane that he can't bear the thought of losing another child. But Jane throws Steven's lies into turmoil when she tells him about an alternative treatment in America.
As the pressure rises, Steven snaps at Jane and tells her he doesn't want to be given false hope – but the game could be up when she later makes a startling discovery.
Desperate for the truth, Jane waits for Steven to get answers, but has she just exposed his lies?
EastEnders airs these scenes on Thursday, August 31 at 7.30pm on BBC One.
