EastEnders' Whitney Carter will drop a bombshell after she returns to Walford next week – she's engaged to Woody Woodward!
Fans will see Whitney (Shona McGarty) back on screen in upcoming episodes, but it looks like a lot has happened in her time away.
Whitney was forced to leave Albert Square in shame back in May after sharing a kiss with her father-in-law Mick, but she's a brand new woman when she arrives back at the pub.
Given that Mick is hoping to put his momentary lapse of judgement behind him, he's understandably left reeling from Whitney's unexpected return home – unaware that the biggest shock is still to come.
Conscious of her son's guilty secret, Shirley struggles to hide her displeasure at seeing Whitney again, but things grow even more awkward when Johnny insists Whitney moves back into The Vic.
Somewhat surprisingly, Mick is fully supportive of Johnny's idea and even offers Whitney her old job back – much to Shirley's total disapproval.
With tensions rising, a fuming Shirley confronts Whitney, but she's quick to stand her ground this time as she makes it very clear that she isn't going anywhere.
However, Whitney has one more surprise for everyone as she later reveals she's engaged – and her fiancé is Woody! How will Mick react?
Woody hasn't been seen on screen since May when Lee Ryan's guest stint came to an end. However, it has since been confirmed that he will be returning to the show on a more permanent basis.
EastEnders airs these scenes on Monday, July 31 and Tuesday, August 1 on BBC One.
