It’s a busy week on EastEnders, with Nancy finding fresh purpose, Karen facing new hardships and Billy getting a shot at romance with a Walford newcomer.
It’s your spoiler-filled guide to the 26-30 April, 2021.
Nancy’s surprise new job
Given that Nancy recently threatened to feed Sharon her own wig piece by piece, it’s a shock to see her now trying to get employment at the gym. But she does indeed bag herself a job, much to the confusion of Mick and Linda, who are baffled as to where their daughter’s errant husband Tamwar fits into the picture.

By Tuesday, Linda will have made a worrying discovery in the pockets of Nancy’s coat – thus setting the scene for a confrontation that sees the Carter family’s matriarch demanding answers.
The Taylors’ financial plight
I can’t image a plan for Bernadette to be Rainie and Stuart’s surrogate will end well. When you look at how similar plotlines have played out in the past, Bernie will probably end up refusing to part with the baby and running away.

But that’s all in the possible future. In the here and now, Karen is really struggling to pay the bills and Bailey is sensing that there are big financial pressures in the house. When Bailey then overhears Mitch telling Karen that he can’t afford the train fare to take his little girl to her awards ceremony, she forms a plan. And it’s one that’ll lead to Mitch making a stomach-lurching find in Friday’s episode.
Callum and Ben’s wedding hitch
#Ballum fans will be biting their nails to the quick after Callum informs Ben and Phil that the wedding venue has gone bust so the whole of their big day is cancelled.
Ben, though, is determined to salvage the situation and announces that he’s going to fix things. And I, for one, believe him. After all, where would a soap wedding be without some unforeseen complications. Nobody gets to say “I do” until everyone’s at their wits’ end.
Mila is keeping secrets
We also have Kim trying to set up another date between Mila and Iqra, only for her matchmaking efforts to backfire. Mila will be seen backing out and explaining that she has to work a double shift. But when Kim realises that Mila has lied, she turns detective, follows her and finds her meeting up with a man…
Believing that she has a cheat in her midst, Kim blurts out what she’s witnessed in front of Iqra – and Mila ends up having to put people in the picture about what exactly is going on.
Estelle enters Billy’s life
New character alert! We have Janet’s agent making her debut and her name is Estelle. And no, it’s not the same Estelle who used to represent Joey in Friends. But she is being played by a familiar face – yes, that’s Sue Holderness, aka Marlene from Only Fools and Horses.
As for her storyline, well, what we’ll see is Estelle taking a fancy to Billy and inviting him for a drink. But there are complications when it comes to their burgeoning romance – and it’s all to do with money.
The sticking point is Honey’s discovery that Janet is being paid less than the other children at her photoshoot. And after Estelle fobs her off, Honey tells Billy that she’ll pull Janet out of the project should the pay issues not be resolved. So, will Billy put his chance of happiness over cold hard cash?
