EastEnders’ Bobby Beale was sentenced to three years in prison on Thursday night after pleading guilty to killing his sister Lucy Beale and inflicting GBH on step-mother Jane Beale.

The evil character - brilliantly portrayed by Eliot Carrington - wept in court as the judge delivered a three-year sentence for taking out his sibling and one-year for beating his step-mum, with the sentences to run concurrently.

Delivering her verdict, the judge said: “I’ve made my decision on the basis that your crimes were violent, aggressive and displayed a worrying pattern of behaviour.

"Therefore, I will impose a sentence of three years for the unlawful killing of Lucy Catherine Beale and one year for the grievous bodily harm with intent of Leslie Jane Beale - these are to run concurrently.”

As Bobby was led away in court, dad Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) ran over to him but couldn’t do anything to save his son.

In another shock, Ian confessed to police officer Keeble that he found out Bobby was Lucy’s killer on his wedding day, meaning he was withholding crucial evidence about the court case.

However, Keeble told fellow officer Cameron he had suffered enough and that everyone involved in the case had “made mistakes”.

Ian headed to the hospital to inform a devastated Jane about Bobby’s sentence but there was some good news as just before the doof doofs went up she gripped Ian’s hand, meaning she may not be paralysed after all.

What’s more, there was some confusion on Twitter about Bobby’s sentence with some mistaking concurrently to mean consecutively, believing he had been given a four-year sentence overall.

But concurrently means he will serve both at the same time.
