EastEnders brings back familiar face for exit in early iPlayer release
EastEnders spoilers follow for Thursday’s episode (September 19), which is available to watch now on streaming service BBC iPlayer and hasn’t yet aired on TV.
EastEnders has brought back a familiar face as one character made their exit from Walford in the show’s latest episode.
This week, Bobby Beale has struggled after walking in on his girlfriend Anna kissing Freddie, as well as finding out that she terminated her pregnancy.
Despite Anna wanting to get back together, Cindy lied to Bobby and told him she had admitted her feelings for Freddie – and Bobby considered going to live with Jane in the Cotswolds.

In today’s episode, Ian tried to comfort Bobby, but he was devastated when his son told him about his plans to move away.
Kathy was furious and told Ian to sort things out, reminding Cindy that she had put Ian in a similar situation 30 years ago.
Anna wanted to make things up with Bobby, but Cindy lied and said he didn’t want to see her, encouraging Anna to give him space for a week.
Meanwhile, Kat and Alfie came to check on heartbroken Freddie, but Ian then arrived and sacked Freddie, demanding that he leave Walford.

At The Vic, Ian continued to shout at Freddie before confronting Anna. He was desperate to get Bobby to stay as he didn’t want to lose another child like he lost Steven and Lucy.
Cindy and Ian argued about the past, but they were interrupted by Peter who said that he saw Bobby with flowers – heading towards the graveyard.
They found Bobby talking to Lucy at her grave, and Cindy attacked Bobby with the flowers, wanting him to face up to what he did to her daughter.
Bobby then snapped and said he was tired of being made to feel guilty by Cindy, who herself felt guilty for neglecting Lucy in the years before her death.

In poignant scenes, he decided to end his "prison sentence" and get away from the past for good, and Ian and Cindy agreed that Lucy would want to set him free from his guilt.
Jane then returned to the Square for the first time since 2017 to take Bobby to the Cotswolds and she shared some fond words with Ian (and some not so fond words with Cindy).
Bobby said an emotional goodbye to his family, but left on bad terms with both Anna and Freddie, saying they deserved each other.
"It’s time to forget about being Bobby Beale and just focus on being Bobby," he said, before leaving Walford for good and bringing to a close a decade-long EastEnders story.
EastEnders airs on Mondays - Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
