'EastEnders' fans are unhappy that the soap has been cancelled tonight

If you’re thinking about settling down with a nice cuppa and watching EastEnders tonight at 7.30pm, you’d better change your plans.

The BBC One soap has been cancelled tonight to make way for live FA Cup action – and fans are Not Happy about it.

EE has been bumped so the Beeb can show the fifth round cup tie between Liverpool and Chelsea, with coverage starting at 7pm.

Viewers have taken to social media to complain about the changes to their soapy schedule.

One annoyed fan tweeted: “Seriously getting tired of Eastenders keep being taken off for football, when are people going to realise not everyone likes football

Another agreed writing: “They should cancel Football. Not EastEnders.

A third said: “its tuesday morning. youre just waking up when you check your phone to see what time eastenders is on tonight. you realise its not and youll have to wait until thursday for ballum content even though you werent fed the whole weekend. you, along with the entire population cries.”

And a fourth added: “Anyone else just noticed no eastenders tonight because of the bl**dy football?”

But Easties fans don’t need to worry too much as there’s a special hour-long episode on Friday to make up for the missed trip to Walford.

Friday’s extra-long episode will see Whitney Dean (Shona McGarty) stressed out as she faces her bail hearing for murdering twisted stalker, Leo King.

Fans will also see Jasmine Armfield’s final scenes as Bex Fowler leaves the Square to go travelling.

EastEnders continues Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One.
