Yahoo News EastEnders Christmas drama as Stacey slaps Max
EastEnders has revealed a first look at the dramatic moment that Stacey Fowler slaps Max Branning on Christmas Eve.
Stacey (Lacey Turner) is the only ally that Max still has left on Albert Square right now, but their friendship looks set to be severely tested over the festive period.
With everyone else still against him, Max (Jake Wood) lies to Stacey to get her alone on Christmas Eve – falsely claiming that he's left his wallet at her house and needs it urgently.
When Stacey gets dragged off to deal with Max, she misses her big chance to play the Angel in the nativity play, which means Karen Taylor steps in to take her place.
At the Fowler house, it doesn't take Stacey long to realise that she's been duped by Max and has missed out on the nativity for no reason.
A furious Stacey tells Max to leave, but he knows exactly how to goad her by claiming that she's lost her Slater spark.
Proving Max wrong, Stacey slaps him across the face – joining a long line of people who've lashed out at him recently!
Tensions seem to have died down the next day when Stacey lets Max and Abi join her family for Christmas dinner, but more trouble looms when the Taylors finally bring back her missing phone.
The phone contains Jane's damning voicemail message revealing the last of Max's secrets and these new pictures show the Albert Square villain frantically trying to delete the evidence.
Will Max get away scot free? With EastEnders promising a huge downfall for him over Christmas, it doesn't seem likely…
EastEnders airs these scenes on Christmas Eve at 8pm and Christmas Day at 9pm on BBC One.
