EastEnders confirms story for Alfie and Linda

EastEnders spoilers follow.

EastEnders will kick off a new storyline for Alfie Moon and Linda Carter as they join forces for a good cause.

Alfie has been supportive of Linda since her husband Mick Carter disappeared last year, even promising to help her run the Vic until she properly sells it.

Next week, the two are brought together in an unexpected way to help the Slaters through the cost-of-living crisis that has already seen Stacey trying to steal cash from the office.

With Stacey clashing with Kat Slater over the latter's offer of help, Stacey has to face off with vicious loan shark Shiv in upcoming scenes.

Even though Stacey comes up with the cash for her latest payment, Shiv turns the tables by demanding £200 by the following day… or else there would be violence.

Stacey is panicked, as she has no money left, leading Alfie to spring into action.

Alfie reminds the Slaters that Big Mo's stash of wedding dresses could help make up the difference.

Alfie is in need of an assistant, and after Sharon Watts turns him down, she suggests it'd be a perfect gig for Linda. Linda also rejects the offer at first but softens after seeing Alfie working overtime to sell the garments.

Linda agrees to help Alfie with sales, while Stacey worries about how she's going to pay off Shiv before it's too late. In addition to the dress sale, Stacey may come up with a new way to pay off her loan.

Fans have previously noticed a potential for romance between Alfie and Linda in the past, though Shane Richie downplayed those theories in a chat with Digital Spy and other media.

"I don't think there's anything there other than Alfie hates to see someone hurting, and when he sees what happened with Mick and Linda, he just sees someone who's hurting, and he wants to be a shoulder to cry on," he said.

"Now how people read into that is up to them, but, at the moment, Alfie has no feelings for Linda whatsoever."
