EastEnders will continue Phil Mitchell's emotional storyline in the week to come and Sharon will question Nigel about what's going on.

Things have been getting on top of Nigel too, who recently opened up to Yolande about his own worrying health diagnosis.

Nigel revealed to Yolande that he has been diagnosed with young on-set dementia, telling her that he hasn't told anyone else about the diagnosis just yet.

In scenes that will air next week, Phil's friends and family start to suspect something is wrong when, at the café, Phil shows little interest when Callum returns from the States.

Later, Callum and Nigel join forces to do something nice for Phil and to cheer him up they arrange a belated birthday party for Phil at The Vic.

However, Nigel later backtracks on the plan because Phil makes it clear that he just wants a quiet night in and Nigel heads over to The Vic to break the news to Sharon and the rest of the Mitchell clan.

At the pub, Yolande tries to convince Nigel to come to church with her but Nigel is distracted by the plight of his friend.

It's clear to Yolande that Nigel is more concerned about Phil than going to church with her and later that day, Sharon questions Nigel on Phil.

Will Phil's family and friends finally learn the truth and give him the support he needs?

EastEnders airs on Mondays-Thursdays at 7.30pm on BBC One. The show also streams on BBC iPlayer, where most episodes drop early at 6am ahead of their TV broadcast.
