EastEnders fans blast parking fine plot

Just what is it with EastEnders storylines at the moment?

It’s almost as though the editor of Walford’s local paper has been put in charge of the scriptwriting team, with the usual murders, rapes and violent crimes replaced by mundane everyday irritations like problems with the bins, and now, parking tickets.

Frustrated EastEnders fans took to social media in droves to moan about scenes that saw Kim Fox hit with a parking ticket for – make sure you’re sitting down – leaving her car in a bus lane.

Husband Vincent (Richard Blackwood) was understandably livid about it all too – because it was his car she’d been travelling in. Cue one almighty collective nationwide gasp.

To add insult to viewers’ injury, the show’s bosses even reserved the show’s iconic ‘duff duffs’ to end the episode with this huge parking fine bombshell.

“Parking ticket story . Did that really warrant the d d d d d ending on eastenders” said one viewer.
“Kim stealing a disabled parking badge to go shoe shopping is the storyline I’ve been waiting for,” added another sarcastically.

Other fans of the soap pointed out that Vincent’s turmoil over the parking fine doesn’t really fit with a character who’s used to brandishing firearms and issuing threats to kill. Hmmm, they’ve got a point, haven’t they?

Oh, and in case you’re wondering, the reason Kim was parked on the double red lines in a Walford bus lane? She spotted a window full of cut-price shoes.

We’ve all done it, haven’t we?
