EastEnders' Fans Left Devastated By Paul Coker's Death
We hate to say we told you so but when reports of Ben Mitchell’s death began to circulate we knew that there would definitely be more to it.
And with actor Harry Reid having no intention of leaving EastEnders, but his on-screen boyfriend Jonny Labey, who plays Paul Coker, set to disappear over the summer, we had a feeling the photos of a distraught Ian Beale and Phil Mitchell at the hospital would lead to a tragic case of mistaken identity.
And we were right. But boy, do we wish that we weren’t.
Fans of the BBC One soap were left devastated last night as the doof doof came after Phil and Ian discovered that it was Paul’s lifeless body in the morgue, not Ben’s.
I’ve not seen one tweet of someone who isn’t gutted that Paul’s died, shows what a mistake this storyline is #EastEnders

How dare they kill off someone as lovely as Paul and yet Abby Branning is still on the loose #EastEnders

Shocked that Paul died - it was so out of the blue. He and Ben made a great couple - they should have let the story develop. #EastEnders

Bruised and beaten, no real reason for his death has been given yet and if it ends up being a homophobic attack we might not ever stop sobbing.
If you cast your minds back to last Friday, Ben had finally started to warm to the idea of being romantic with his boyfriend in public, with the two boys getting eachother’s names tattooed on their ring finger before going for a night on the town.
Tragically, Paul was supposed to be staying at home for dinner with his grandparents that night but Pam Coker insisted that he go out and have fun instead.
Now with the Cokers set to retire to Worthing, will their grandson’s funeral be the last one that they ever undertake.
And where on Earth is Ben?
